SCOOP Lacrosse is back this summer for girls going into 1st through 4th grades! This camp is suitable for the beginner and advanced-beginner lacrosse player and will also build upon skills taught during the SCOOP spring sessions. First & second graders will continue to use the youth sized, plastic lacrosse sticks and soft, light weight balls. Third & fourth graders will play with regulation lacrosse sticks and will receive lots of assistance from the SCOOP staff.
For all SCOOPERS, a different component of the game will be the focus each week and will be built upon and added to throughout the duration of the program. Via fun games and drills tailored to the beginner lacrosse player, each li'l SCOOPer will learn (and/or further hone) the ability to SCOOP, cradle, catch, throw, and shoot. Third and fourth graders will be introduced to dodging, center draws, fast breaks, and 7 v 7 games.
In addition to all the skills and drills development, participants will receive education regarding FUNdamentals of the game: player positions, field markings, rules of the game, and basic game strategy. SCOOPERS will really enjoy the creative ways they'll learn about team play and the game of lacrosse.
All participants should bring sunscreen, bottled water, and a healthy snack. Third & fourth graders will also need a lacrosse stick, goggles, and a mouthguard. All players should wear sneakers or cleats.
